2024 Billy Button ‘The Graceful’ Sparkling Pinot Rosé

SILVER medal winner - vibrant berry flavours with toasty yeast characters. Balanced and complex.
2024 Billy Button ‘The Graceful’ Sparkling Pinot Rosé

This wine is the culmination of Glenn and Jo's passion for making sparkling wine. With a delicate strawberry hue it combines vibrant berry flavours with toasty autolytic characters to create a balanced and complex wine. Made using the Traditional Method, this wine has been hand tiraged and disgorged.

Single vineyard, D5V12 clone sourced from the Tynan Vineyard in Tawonga South.

Production Notes

Handpicked and whole bunch pressed allowing a few hours of skin contact to extract a pale pink hue.  Cooled right down, the juice was settled, racked and inoculated with selected sparkling yeast.  Once fermented the base wine was held on lees until stabilisation and clarification in January.  Hand tiraged in February 2025 - the wine was left to mature on yeast lees in bottle for 9 months.  Riddled and hand disgorged November 2025.

Tasting Notes

Attractive pale pink with salmon highlights.  Aromas of plump strawberry and bright summer berries immersed in layers of toasted brioche and underlying spice. On the palate bright fruit is highlighted by delicate creaminess, a fine acid backbone and fine bubbles that just keep giving. Complex, yet uncomplicated.  Seriously drinkable.

Reviews

SILVER medal winner at the 2025 North East Victorian Wine Challenge

"A Traditional Method sparkling, hand tiraged and disgorged. The gentlest of salmon blushes introduces a finely beaded, youthful sparkling pinot rosé full of red cherry, berry charm. Nicely styled in strawberry, cherry and raspberry with watermelon and almond amaretti scents and flavours delivered on an invigorating, brisk acidity. Clean, fresh and elegant." Awarded 93 points, Halliday Wine Companion, Jeni Port - Published 03 February 2026
