2024 Billy Button ‘The Elusive’ Nebbiolo

NEW RELEASE
2024 Billy Button ‘The Elusive’ Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is known as the 'King' of Italian grape varieties and is notoriously difficult to grow and make. The mountainous topography and climate of the Alpine Valleys is not that dissimilar to Piedmont, the Italian home of the variety. Growers Tony and Josie Ferraro put in an inordinate amount of time to their small patch of Nebbiolo to ensure the quality of the resultant grapes.

Reviews

"Elusive? Always. Nebbiolo is every inch as difficult a child as pinot noir. Here, it combines the best of drink-now and drink-later worlds with tannins built for the purpose but tamed to bring forward bright and delicious cherry fruits, tart cranberry, raspberry berries, rose petal, red licorice and earth. Black tea-like tannins refresh and line the palate, slightly drying, but then this is nebbiolo. Give it time." Awarded 90 points, Halliday Wine Companion, Jeni Port - Published 20 August 2026
